| Academics |
| Brookhaven has a rich tradition built over the last 45 years and many successful graduates in all walks of life. Brookhaven has a student enrollment of nine hundred seventy that reflects the city ethnically, economically and academically. Since the fall of 2004, Brookhaven has been divided into three small schools: The Leadership Institute; Legacy Institute of Habits of the Mind and Heart; and The Northstar School of Business and Economics. |
| CURRICULUM: Brookhaven High School is fully accredited by the North Central Accreditation Association. The school day consists of seven 42 minute periods. Students may select career preparation through a college preparatory curriculum: general education curriculum; or through a half-day career center program at one of four vocational career centers that serve Columbus students. Brookhaven's academic offerings consist of mathematics: algebra 1 through A.P. calculus, physical science through physics and A.P. chemistry; four years of social studies, four years of world language in the areas of Spanish, French; four years of English including PSEO English. Electives are offered in vocal and instrumental music, drama, and speech. Computer applications; African American studies; Sociology/Psychology; visual arts and business education are also offered. |
